Being Glad
Read an article on being glad in Our Daily Bread yesterday. Found it very meaningful. It talks about how to be glad and thankful always - even when bad things happened. This girl, Marianne was glad even though she fell & broke her arm while riding her bicycle. She was thankful & grateful because:
1. She was able to ride all the way back home
2. She wouldn't need to have surgery
3. She would still be able to work because it was her left arm (she's right-handed) that hurts
4. She has good bones, so her arms should heal find

It reminds me of a story that I'd once read in a book entitled 'Let's Teh-Tarik'. This man was grateful after he was robbed. He thank God because God had provided him enough that he wouldn't need to rob others!

These are people that rejoice in spite of trouble. Suffering eventually touches us all. As we realistically look for the good despite our bad circumtances, we can be grateful that God is holding us close. It is when we trust in His goodness that we find gladness.

My thoughts:
It's how we take it when bad things happened. Instead of grumbling and blaming others, try to look at it from a different angle, things will turn out to be better. Change the way you look at things and make a difference in your life. How you lead your life is always YOUR choice!

Be joyful always; pray continually;give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thess. 5:16-18)
