Making hostel like home
After experiencing 1st year of Uni life, I guess me & my coursemates were slowly transforming the hostel to be more like home. With all those electrical equipment we had, staying in hostel is not much different from home. Get to eat more home-cooked food, tastier and healtier. Can cook anything we wanna eat. Most importantly, get the fun of marketing & cooking 2gather! Hahaha..

Electrical equipment we had in hostel:

1. Rice cooker
2. Kettle

3. Refrigerator. Cant believe we even bought this also!!

Cooked 'mi hun kuih' last tuesday. Since one of my coursemate, Junne, was a 'mi hun kuih' fan and she was curious to know the process of preparing it! Cooking 'mi hun kuih' wasn't difficult but it needs lotz of preparation before cooking it! Need to prepare the dough, cook the soup etc...I only found out that 'mi hun kuih' was only available in the northern region of Msia. Thus, only a few of my coursemates from the northern & central region of M'sia know how to cook this dish. The funny thing was...all of us have our unique way of preparing it coz we were all from different family background. Some suggested to used cold water to prepare the dough, some say have to mix with corn flour. Whereas I prefer to mix the dough with some oil. Like I'd always did. It makes the dough more smooth.

The process of making 'mi hun kuih'.

Tada...Here comes the 'mi hun kuih' that we'd cooked. Yum~yum~

Had our course photo-session last Wednesday. Sounds like in school right?? Where we took class photo every year. Thought it was lebih to take this kind of photo at first, but it turns out to be quite fun eventually. Get to wear blazer during the photo-session, looks SMART right? Like CEO wor~Haha..
Before & after the actual photo-session. Manage to snap a few photos while waiting.

p/s : Takes me a long time to publish this post. WifiUTM is making me frustrated! Connection not stable. Process of uploading photos so damn slow...Hope it can be improved!
Yesterday...Today
Arrived at Muar bus stop 1.5 hour earlier yesterday before heading back to UTM. No choice, coz my dad have 2 attend his company Graduation Day, nobody fetch me to bus stop after that.

Before going back to UTM. Daddy Mummy preparing to attend my dad's Language Centre Graduation Day.

I'd decided to drop by at 434 Coffee since it was just opposite the bus stop. Muar is famous for this coffee. For customers to easily remember and recognize the coffee brand, the founder used 434 as the 3 digit telephone number and brand name in 1960s. Since I was born 2 be a Muarian, 434 Coffee was not strange to me. In fact, the 434 Coffee Factory was located just opposite my taman. However, I'd never visit 434 Coffee Shop b4. Sometimes, you won't even bother of the existence of it coz it was already there ever since you were born. Nothing special right??

Muar famous 434 Coffee Shop. Located opposite the bus stop.

Ordered Sai Kee Double Special Coffee, a honey bun and curry puff for lunch. The coffee taste a bit like nescafe, but slightly bitter.

Monday...Prepared myself to attend class this morning. Unfortunately, the weather condition wasn't good today. Wanted to start my motor and rush to my faculty asap, hoping not to kena hujan. Things wasn't going smoothly this morning, can't get to start my motor! Argh!!

The rain started to pour down very heavily soon. I guess things always happen for a reason. If I get to start my motor, it would definely be dangerous for me to ride on motor during rainy day. Ended up taking a bus to faculty. To make things worst, every monday is the formal day of UTM. TODAY is the DAY!! Wearing baju kurung during rainy day was troublesome! Gosh!! All wet when I reached my faculty. Stepped into the computer lab with air-con, so damn cold! Can feel that water is dripping down from me during the lesson. So uncomfortable, I hate it! What a day!! This was just the beginning of the week..

Your love by Jim Brickman

Back to hometown this week after two weeks in UTM. Back to my comfort zone for just a few days. Get to spend time with my family, keep them updated on what I'd been doing lately. Manage to attend a Malay Wedding at my neighbourhood place. Besides, I get to download some nice songs!

Your Love - Jim Brickman & Michelle Wright

Your Love(Lyrics)
It's not the flowers
Wrapped in fancy paper
It's not the ring
I wear around my finger
There's nothing in all the world I need
When I have you here beside me
Here beside me

So you could give me wings to fly
And catch me if I fall
Or pull the stars down from the sky
So I could wish on them all
But I couldn't ask for more
Cause your love is the greatest gift of all

In your arms
I found a strength inside of me
And in your eyes
There's a light to guide me
I would be lost without you
And all that my heart could ever want
Has come true

You could offer me the sun, the moon
And I would still believe
You gave me everything
When you gave your heart to me

I couldn't ask for more
Cause your love is the greatest gift of all

It's Music Time! Play the video clip and listen to this song! Very nice and meaningful song by Jim Brickman. I first heard of this song in Popular at Skudai Parade, JB. Damn nice! I'm so in love with this song. The melody of this song keeps playing on my mind. I ended up surfing the net for hours at home just to download this song and some of his albums, like I always did! Haha..

I like Jim Brickman songs a lot. Like his piano compositions - so soft, so touching. Like the style of his composition. Like the songs he wrote. Like his vocal collaborations with artists like Tara Maclean, Martina McBride and others.

My favourite songs by Jim Brickman: Valentine, You, Beautiful, The Gift, Destiny. Highly recommended these few songs for you guys!

2nd Year in UTM
Phew!! Finally get the chance to update my blog. The internet connection here wasn't stable. Back to campus ady. Cant believe that this is my 2nd year in UTM, being a senior now! How time flies...was only a freshy last year when I first got into UTM. Feeling so sienz and so not in the mood when I came back. Maybe I was too used to the life during sem-break. So relaxing, so enjoy!! For the time being, thinking of attending classes and rushing assignments are making me sick!!! Argh!!! What to do, this is the life of a student. Think I better apprieciate it now!

Was kinda busy last week. Busy settling down, busy adapting myself with the new hostel and busy talking of coz! Hahaha...Since me and 7 others of my 'kakis' were staying next door, chit-chatting cant be avoided for sure! It's more fun and convenient actually to stay together as we get to 'forbidden chat' and share things together. Campus life won't be so bored in that way.

Take a look at my hostel and my room.

Choose to stay at Kolej Datin Seri Endon this sem. A nice hostel except for the location. It was situated quite far away. Besides, the arrangement of cabinet in the hostel was also kinda inconvenient compared with the previous hostel that I'd stayed last year. Not flexible enough. I'd found it difficult to arrange my stuff at first.

My motor. More convenient to have transport in campus.

Bring along my motor (not the blue scooter, bought another motor from my cousin) with me this year. Transportation problem solved! Get to move around more conveniently in campus. Yuhoo! More freedom. No need to walk till siao~ and most importantly, no need to wait 4 the bus! Unless the transportation system was as systematic as in Singapore, or else, I cant imagine taking public transport everyday, so troublesome. I hate it!! Prefer to travel along on my own.

That was briefly about the start of my new semester. More updates coming up next.
Part-time Promoter
Worked as a part-time promoter at Astaka Shopping Center during sem-break. It's time to earn some pocket money to cover those enjoyable trips I had the last few weeks. Pocket kosong, pokkai liao! Never thought that I'd worked as a promoter coz I often regard it as an 'open to public job', where you have to stand there all day long and 'expose' yourself! Things changed. I guess if you're hungry enough, the environment will force you to do the things that you won't even expect you'll do!

Before going to work. Wearing an apron while I don't even need to cook!

Well, I was the promoter for Kimberly-Clark 1 month Fair. Worked on Saturday & Sunday only. Which means, worked 2 days, off 5 days. Haha..quite relaxing! I don't want my job to ruin my sem-break. Sem-break is suppose to spend time with friends and family. Time to have fun is important. That's me! Besides, this job was quite well-paid. RM60 per day, consider not bad! That's why I'd accept this job.

Promoting Kimberly-Clark Products : Kotex, Huggies, Poise, Kleenex and Scott.

Give away goodies bag for customer that puchase RM50 & above of Kimberly-Clark Product(must include 1 kotex product). It wasn't easy to convince people to buy above RM50.

Unforgettable experience during this job : an 1 year old ++ boy poo-poo at my counter! Gosh..I want faint ar! Does my counter looks like a toilet to him?? Or those pampers at my counter makes him feel like poo-poo? Maybe I should encourage the mother to buy pampers from me. It wasn't that little boy's fault coz he's still so young. His mum should bring him straight to the toilet and not settle it in the public! Using a plastic bag to settle little kid 'small stuff' or 'big stuff' wasn't a good idea at all. In the end will mess up other's people place. All kinds of people in this world. Macam-macam. Thx goodness I don't have to clean up those poo-poo on my own, get the cleaner to clean up.

Overall, it was a great experience to work as a promoter. You'll get the chance to train your leg by standing for 8 hours! In fact, you can learn something by standing there and observe people in the shopping centre. See how they behave and what they buy(esp during offer day) can be interesting also.

Can't believe that 2 months ++ sem break just gone like that! Going back UTM tomorrow. Miss the time together with my coursemates, at the same time feel lazy and sienz to go back. Can't bear to leave my comfort zone. It's a mixture of feelings ya. No more complaints! I'd already got 1 more week break than others. It's time to face the reality......
'Horror Home'
My heart sank after reading the front page of The Star Newspaper yesterday morning. The headline 'Horror home' and the picture of a naked man caught my attention to continue reading. Curious about what's going on.

An inmate crawling on the floor in a cage.

Taman Sinar Harapan home in Kuala Kubu Baru was a govt-run shelter for the disabled. However, this 'Sinar Harapan' (Ray of Hope) has turned out to be a nightmare. The home has about 200 residents comprising men, women and children. Some of them are mentally disabled and infirmed. Things were worst where some of the inmate were naked, chained up, caged and covered in their faeces and urine! They were locked up in bars like animals in a zoo! The volunteer shared that patients were not given any clothing as they had used their shirt to strangle themselves or the other men. Was that a good reason for not giving them clothes? Should they be treated in this way? It was such an humiliation for them! Wonder how the volunteer would 'sambil hati' to leave these patients like this.

These patients should be treated by medication, not retricting their movement by chaining them to their beds. The people in charge of this home should be well-equipped with knowledge to handle and take care of these patients well. These patients are human too. Treating them in such a way is totally an abuse to them!
