Bye Bye 2009!
Just realized today it's the last day of 2009 and this will be my last post of the year. 2010 is coming in a few minutes time!

OMG!! How time flies...Christmas was just over and we've come 2 the end of 2009.

Wondering what I've been doing throughout this year...

Have I grow more mature compared to the previous year?

Have I change to be a better person?

What had I done actually?? Nothing much, but at least I've done something! (not sure what is it though)

The earth keeps turning and life still goes on!

Day by day, month by month, year by year...it just past beyond our control!!

BYE BYE 2009 & Happy 2010!
Starting of Sem 4
It's Christmas Eve & I'm back 2 hometown once again! Realized that I haven't been updating my blog for weeks coz I've too many pictures & I'm just too lazy to organize it!

Started my new semester 2 weeks ago. Felt kinda unfair coz other Uni haven't start their new semester and yet we're back to campus ady! Sienz....

OK, no more complains! Uni life is FUN anyway and I'm glad to be with my friends in campus. Better cherish the time together b4 we graduate.

Btw, I've been kinda busy for the past few weeks! Busy settling down & busy wandering around I guess. Hehehe...

Celebrated Dong Zhi Festival in campus last 2 days and we make Tang Yuan with all sort of ingredients! No harm trying new flavor right?

New flavor of Tang Yuan with chocolate, raisins, peanut butter, gua zi & peanut.

Done! Looks at all our hands~It's the evidence of hard work..

Ready to cook! Does these Tang Yuan looks like fish balls? Hehehe...

Cook the Tang Yuan separately from the sweet soup so that the soup won't be 'polluted'!

Tang Yuan with different flavor is served in a short while! The sweet soup with only pandan leaves & ginger is tasty! It would be tastier if we added gula Melaka in it!

Every ball is a surprise with different ingredient in it! Surprisingly, the Tang Yuan wrapped with peanut is so NICE! Taste a bit crunchy, sweet & salty at the same time. We ended up eating quite a lot of Tang Yuan just to try our luck to get the flavor we want. Coz those Tang Yuan were all mixed up and we couldn't differentiate which is which! Hahaha...It's fun after all~

Watched 2 GOOD movies recently. I think GREAT would be a better description. Really worth watching..

The Princess & the Frog. The show that I've been waiting for so long. I'm loving this show so much..it's so magical. I love the traditional ways of drawing compared with 3D animation. Brings me back to my childhood time with Beauty & the Beast, Little Mermaid and other Disney movies. With the princess story & the happily ever after ending!

Be careful what You kissed for. This wasn't The Frog Prince story we used to heard since young.

Another great show, Avatar. Wow~I was so amazed by the world of Avatar. It's too beautiful & I really don't know how 2 describe it! A very exciting Sci-Fi movie. I think the movie in 3D would give a better effect. How I wish I could watch in 3D.

Make a trip to Singapore with my coursemates & family...

With coursemates @ Bugis.

With family @ Orchard

Now is Makan Time!!

Tasted lotz of good food in Kuching. There are simply too much good food and we just don't have enough time to try all! In order to try as many food as possible, we ended up moving from place to place and ate several times 4 a single meal!

These are Kuching's Signature Dishes....

Kolo Mee. Can be easily found in every Coffee Shops.

Try it in different shapes of noodles (flat noodles, curly noodles, mee hoon)

Sarawak Laksa

Tomato Mee/Kueh Tiaw. It's delicious! Seldom found this in the Peninsular.

Midin, wild fern found only in Sarawak.

Mustn't miss this....

Teh C Peng

In Peninsular, Teh Peng is commonly found whereas in Kuching, Teh C Peng can be found in every kopitiams.

Teh C Peng Special or 3-layer Teh C Peng has 3 visual layers consist of gula Melaka syrup, evaporated milk and a layer of tea.

4-layer Teh C Peng (extra greenish pandan layer) and 5-layer Teh C Peng(extra cincau layer) is also available.

*******

GOTCHA!! Gonna share some interesting & funny discovery throughout this trip.

Take a look at this...
Obviously is a PIG isn't it?

Look what is written on the label for it
OMG!! Pig = Deer???

Here comes another wrong label...

Wondering what creature is this??

Check out the label for it

TOILET??? Otter = Toilet? Pity this little otter for the labeling.

Aren't those labels confusing?? Better update those labels to give visitors a clear description.

See the Difference

To make in FUN, I might as well SPOT the difference

The Result

Tada...spotted those differences! Hahaha...

Saw this notice at one of the Coffee Shop's toilet @ Jalan Song.

Direct Translation: Poo is forbid, but pee is allowed.

Gosh!! Found this kinda ridiculous & funny. What kinda toilet is this when a person is not allowed to poo? Hahaha...

*******

Finally...

This trip won't be a success without our "Hot & Sexy Organizer" with her "Strategic Plans"! Thanks Lovena for the accommodation, transportation & the efforts for bringing us around her territory. Will definitely make a trip to Kuching next time!

-Day 6-

Dropped by Green Mountain Temple, Muara Tebas before heading to Bako National Park.

Green Mountain Temple

Since I don't worship the idols and not folding joss papers, I might as well wandering around the temple and snapped some pictures while observing the rest of them.

Folding joss papers

We moved on further to Bako National Park....

Arrived at the boat jetty in Kampung Bako Village

Although it was drizzling that time, we were allowed to take a boat ride to Bako National Park coz the tide was low.

The wind is strong and the boat ride was kinda thrilling as the wave comes...

Boat Riding to Bako National Park

So near to nature...Enjoying the scenery throughout the boat riding~

Walking towards the bank as it was difficult for the boat to reach the jetty due to the low tide condition

Here we are...Bako National Park

Jungle Trekking Trails. A map is given as a guide for jungle trekking.

*******

Malaysia-China Friendship Garden @ Taman Sahabat.

Felt like I'm in China coz the buildings in this garden were designed using China's ancient building style.

The statue of Cheng Ho in the middle of the garden

Standing at the stone panel that represent the state we came from

The Chinese Pavillion

Found this cutie kitty at the side of the park. We're posing like them too...

The Friendship Globe

Alright, this is totally embarrassing & crazy but who cares!! Nobody knows us in Kuching. Wakaka....Beh song pergi Jalan Song~Song Song pun boleh pergi Jalan Song.

Since me & Junne loves the name of this jalan so much, we both run over the street just to took picture with the signboard. In fact, it was Mei San that suggested us to do so.

Wondering the Chinese name of Jalan Song. Is it called 爽路(shuang lu)? Hahaha...surprisingly it is not! It's called 桑路(sang lu). I can imagine Lovena's beh tahan face with our crazy behavior!!

Tada...road sign of Jalan Song

*******
-Day 7-

Hang around at Carpenter's Street. There are indeed lotz of furniture shops along this street, I guess this is how the street get it's name. Souvenir shops and food stalls can be found along the street.

Carpenter's Street

Later at night, sent Junne & Mei Fern to the airport as they went back 1 day earlier than the rest of us.

Us, together with Lovena's friends.

-Day 5-

Stayed 1 night at Damai Beach Resort...

The tide was low....Took a stroll at the beach in the morning

Found a seashell

Wondering what is this? Is it sea cucumber? Found this all over the beach.
Looks like a pool of shit to me!

The Cat Museum

Cats in human faces

Never thought that there are so many things about CATS!

CATS in the ancient Egypt, CATS in the movie, CATS in the music, CAT law and even CAT'S cemetery!

Cat Law

Cat's Cemetery

Cat plays an important role in Ancient Egypt. Ancient Egyptians mummified the cat and display it in the museum. Anyone who killed a cat can be put to death!

One more fact that I found very interesting:
Ancient Egyptians shaved their eyebrows in mourning when the family cat died!
Whua~Guess the Ancient Egyptians will be kinda busy shaving off their eyebrows over and over again. When their eyebrows grows back, another cat died, they would have to shave it off again...If this process continues, their descendants might not have eyebrows anymore!! Hahaha...

Definitely can find Hello Kitty in the Cat Museum

Cat in Love ~ So sweet

Black & White Shining Cats

Meow~Meow~Nothing else besides CATS

UP NEXT....BAKO NATIONAL PARK
