Well, I guess she was the only malay friend we're close with. Began to realise that I only had a few Malay friend and Hawa was the one that we'll at least meet up once a year.
Was served with Mee Goreng. Don't really have the appetite to eat @ 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Mee Goreng for tea-time was certainly too heavy! Prefer eating cookies.
Mari ambil gambar~Setahun baru gather sekali jer!
Hari Raya was not only about MAKAN. It was a good time to catch up with each other coz we are all studying or working far apart!
Selamat Hari Raya to all my Malay friends. Jumpe lagi next year!!
Here I am again..
Austin Hill Goft Resort. Nice view. The bedroom is so comfy & super huge !
Dr Simon Locke was indeed a gifted communicator. With his sense of humour, he brings laughter to us during the theme talk. In accordance to the camp theme - Touching Communities, Touching Lives, Dr Simon talks about Understanding The Mandate, the next level - 'Do' and Strategic Alliances.
The speaker, Dr Simon Locke & Interpreter, Zoe.
What impressed me the most by Dr Simon was the saying of : "We don't GO to church, we ARE the church."
He was not stopping us from going to church, don't get it wrong. We should BE the church by our own instead of going to church once a week.
Dr Simon showed us a Batman video clip. "It's Not I Am Underneath but What I DO that defines me!" This was what Batman says. He used this quote to apply to Christians as well. People won't know you're a Christian, but they will know you're a Christian by what you Do. It does make sense.
Delicious Food! This is what I liked about camps coz u don't need to worry about FOOD.
Ps Daniel played the keyboard and sang Hui Kah's favourite song! So romantic, so touching..
It was so dramatic! Coz this kind of scene was often showed in a drama or movie. Where the Prince proposed to the Princess, get married and they live happily ever after! Never expect to witness this with my own eyes.
What a joyous occasion! Congratulations to Ps Daniel & Hui Kah...It was too bad coz the jaccuzi and sauna of the resort was under maintainance, didn't get to enjoy it. Overall, it was indeed a fun and heart-warming camp. I was so touched to see how God had touch lives and bless people in this camp. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and His blessings may overflow in you!
Read this passage - "Procrastination(delay) Leads Nowhere" from a book Breakfast with God. I guess my dad purposely showed me this passage coz he thinks that it suits me a lot.
Reason: Cause I often delay my work and only willing to start doing it until the very LAST minute!!
Here's a little poem for those who struggle with procrastination, found it very meaningful.
We are often greatly bothered
By two fussy little men,
Who sometimes block our pathway
Their names are How and When.
If we have a task or duty
Which we can put off a while,
And we do not go and do it
You should see those two ragues smile!
But there is a way to beat them,
And I will tell you how:
If you have a task or duty,
Do it well, and do it now.
Wow, this guy has the most wonderful voice. I was amazed by the pitching and how wide a guy could stretched his vocal. Unbelievable! Close your eyes and enjoy listening to it.
These are a few of my favourite songs by Nick Pitera. Found it on Youtube.
The journey back home was kinda 'adventerous'. Drove my motorcycle out to Sri Puteri. On the way out, SUDDENLY..felt my motorcycle was shaky and almost out of control. Luckily I wasn't driving fast. Stopped down to check what's wrong...the back tyre of my motorcycle was puncture.
Gosh! No choice, need to call the mechanic to fix it. Guess what causes the tyre to puncture?? Iron wires!! Just a few of these tiny little iron wires can cause the whole tyre flat! Sometimes, things just happened out of our expectation.
However, we can always find reasons to praise God.
1) Praise God that I was still in campus while the tyre of my motorcycle puncture.
2) Praise God that I haven't bought the ticket.
3) And most importantly, praise God that I still had a safety journey back.
Get to eat lotz of good food during Puasa month. I guess my family members were having all these malay food for this whole month. I'm missing the air jagung so much!! Milky milky air jagung..that stall was only available once a year..that is during the Puasa month.
Milky milky air jagung. The best air jagung I'd ever tried.
Was kinda busy during the weekend at home. Went to help out at my dad's language center coz they needed teacher urgently. The timing was right where I was there to help. Took over 3 classes, teaching children aged between 4-9 years old.
It was a totally new experience for me although it wasn't my first time teaching. I used to teach in a small group of 3-5 students, or teach personally. Teaching a class of around 12 students was my first time. It wasn't easy to handle a group of kids..maybe because I'm not fierce and those kids don't scare me enough. Hehehe..but I seriously don't know how to be fierce with those kids that are so cute, innocent and adorable.
It was torturing to wear high-heels while teaching. No choice..coz almost all my shoes were in campus. Giving me a backache coz I had to bend down to guide those kids. Some of them are just too young and can't even hold their pencil well, have to hold their hands and guide them write. At the end of the lesson, you'll feel the pain(leg pain + backache!!)
The past weekend..was busy..but fulfilling!
Had Korean Food at Jang Won Restaurant together with the bunch of my 'forbidden' housemates last thursday. Wonder is it a good thing to have our own transport around? Coz we'd been traveling more and spending more!!
Jang Won Restaurant @ JB Town. Korean BBQ, Steamboat & Appetizer. Yum~yum~Like the ambiance of the restaurant.
Time for group photo. The reflection of the mirror gave us a great help! No one is left out then.
Went to Jusco Tebrau the following day. Planned to sing-k at first, but ended up tak jadi. Sigh..went at the wrong time where school holiday was still on and we didn't reserve a room at RedBox. The rooms were fully booked! Sienz..really spoiled our mood coz we're so semangat to sing-k.
Having lunch @ Pizza Hut, Jusco Tebrau.
Watched Orphan, a horror and thrilling movie. There's really something wrong with this 9 years old girl from the orphanage. What she did was really shocking and cruel. She wasn't as innocent as she was supposed to be and you'll never expect her to do such a thing in her age! However, some of the scary scene in this movie became the favourite topics among my coursemates recently. I guess..horror movie turns out to be a comedy! Hahaha...
What I'd learned from this movie: Don't simply adopt a child from an orphanage coz you don't really know the background of that child. Or else, you might bring disaster to your family!
Just came back from Hebron Presbyterian Church Family Camp @ Austin Hill Golf Resort, JB. This was the 2nd time I went to this resort. I first went there for my course night 6 months ago. Like this place a lot. It was indeed a nice and heart-warming camp. I was so touched to see how God has touch lives and bless people. Will share more about this camp in my coming post when I get more photos..
